What is Selank?
Tuftsin is a four-residue peptide cleaved from immunoglobulin G that stimulates immune cells, but it breaks down within minutes. In the 1980s and 1990s, researchers at the Institute of Molecular Genetics of the Russian Academy of Sciences found that adding Pro-Gly-Pro to small regulatory peptides made them much more stable. Applied to tuftsin, that produced Selank. The same strategy, applied to a fragment of ACTH, produced its sister peptide Semax.
In rodent studies Selank reduced anxiety-like behaviour without the sedation associated with benzodiazepines, and mechanistic work points to several systems: allosteric modulation of GABA-A signalling, inhibition of the enzymes that break down enkephalins, changes in BDNF expression and shifts in inflammatory cytokines such as IL-6. Selank was registered in Russia, but the clinical evidence behind it is small and largely unreplicated outside that country.

I’ve had crippling ADHD (diagnosed) and taken meds most of my life but have always had side effects from them, and worried about future long term side effects from amphetamine type meds. I’ve been on Selank for a month and I literally tossed my regular meds. I feel great, no side effects for me personally and truly for the first time in my life don’t have 95% of my regular anxiety. Everybody is different, but this has been the best med ive taken for ADHD. Highly recommend for adults, not sure about children because this is all very new stuff. Consult with your Dr. but theyll probably tell you not to do it lol.
