Description

N-Acetyl Semax is Semax with an acetyl cap on its N-terminus, a small change designed to protect the peptide from enzymes that trim from the front end. It is stocked for analogue-comparison work alongside standard Semax. Pure Peptides Canada supplies it as a lyophilized research reagent in 10 and 50 mg vials, with CAD pricing and tracked shipping from inside Canada.

N-Acetyl Semax at a glance

  • What it is: Ac-Met-Glu-His-Phe-Pro-Gly-Pro, the ACTH(4-7)-Pro-Gly-Pro heptapeptide Semax with an acetylated N-terminus.
  • Why the acetyl group: capping the N-terminus blocks aminopeptidases, the enzymes that usually start breaking down short peptides, so it is expected to be more stable than the parent.
  • Evidence level: published data on the acetylated form is limited compared with standard Semax, which has decades of Russian research behind it.
  • Supplied as: sealed lyophilized powder in 10 or 50 mg, single vial or box of 10.
  • Delivery: ships from inside Canada by tracked Xpresspost in 3–7 days ($25 CAD), or free in 4–12 days on orders over $299.

Most published research is on standard Semax. Data specific to the acetylated form is limited.

What is N-Acetyl Semax?

Semax was created in Moscow by adding a stabilizing Pro-Gly-Pro tail to a short fragment of ACTH, which protected the back end of the peptide. N-acetylation applies the same logic to the front end. Many enzymes that break down short peptides, the aminopeptidases, need a free amino group at the N-terminus to start cutting. Capping it with an acetyl group removes that handle.

The result is a peptide with the same seven-residue sequence as Semax but a slightly different chemical profile and, in principle, a longer working life in biological samples. Most of the published neuroscience, including the BDNF and ischaemia studies, was done with standard Semax, so the most useful designs compare the two forms directly.

Testing note: lab reports are listed on our Lab Testing page. Check that the report names the acetylated form. Its mass should be about 42 Da higher than standard Semax. Regulatory status: N-Acetyl Semax is not an authorized drug in Canada. We sell it strictly as a laboratory reagent for in-vitro research.

What N-Acetyl Semax research looks at

  • Peptide stability: degradation rates of acetylated versus non-acetylated Semax in plasma and tissue preparations.
  • Analogue comparisons: activity relative to standard Semax in the same cell model.
  • Neurotrophic signalling: BDNF and TrkB pathways first described for the parent peptide.
  • Melanocortin pharmacology: how N-terminal modification affects ACTH-fragment behaviour.

N-Acetyl Semax FAQ

Where can I buy N-Acetyl Semax in Canada?

Pure Peptides Canada stocks N-Acetyl Semax as a lyophilized research reagent in 10 and 50 mg vials and ships it from inside Canada by tracked Xpresspost in 3–7 days ($25 CAD), or free in 4–12 days on orders over $299.

What is the difference between N-Acetyl Semax and Semax?

The sequence is identical. N-Acetyl Semax adds an acetyl group to the N-terminus, which blocks aminopeptidase breakdown and is intended to improve stability. Most published research is on standard Semax.

Is N-Acetyl Semax the same as N-Acetyl Semax Amidate?

No. The amidate version also caps the C-terminus with an amide group. This listing is N-terminally acetylated only.

How do I confirm I have the acetylated form?

By mass. The acetyl group adds about 42 Da, so the identity mass should be near 856 Da rather than Semax’s 813.9 Da. Our COA guide explains how to read a report.

Can N-Acetyl Semax be used in people or animals?

No. This product is for in-vitro laboratory research only and is not a drug, supplement or food. We do not provide dosing or administration information.

For laboratory research use only. Not a drug, supplement, food or cosmetic, not for human or veterinary use, and not intended to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.

Storage & Handling

Store sealed lyophilized vials cold and away from light to preserve stability. Keep vials sealed until use and follow any batch-specific notes on the Certificate of Analysis.

Because all products are sold strictly for laboratory research use, we do not provide reconstitution, dosing, or administration guidance of any kind.

Certificate of Analysis

Our Lab Testing page lists the current Janoshik Analytical certificate for most products, by vial size and batch code. Certificates for earlier batches, and for products not listed, are available on request. Match the batch number printed on your vial to its certificate.
